As any painter can attest to, a paint will only perform as well as the surface that it’s going on allows. No matter what product you use, if you apply your paint to an unstable surface, the paint will flake, peel, and eventually fail on you. As is the case with any project in life, prep work is the first and most important step in the process. The majority of issues in the finished product result from skipping or rushing through this step and therefore we want to be very upfront and tell you that there is always some type of prep work to be done.
Preparation when using Fusion Mineral Paint:
• All previously coated surfaces should be sanded to de-gloss the surface
• Be sure to clean it with TSP if greasy and rinse well as TSP itself can be a resist
• Remove all wax on the surface with odorless solvent or mineral spirits
• Laminate, lacquer cabinets, plastic or metal all require FUSION Ultra Grip for best results and adhesion
Laminate, lacquered or high gloss surfaces formerly deemed to be nearly impossible to paint are no longer impossible with the use of our FUSION Ultra Grip. We strive to make the impossible possible and let your imagination be the only limiting factor in any of your creations
or projects are often tricky to paint, not with Ultra Grip!
How to Use:
Apply a coat of Ultra Grip after you have lightly sanded and cleaned your surface. Allow Ultra Grip to dry for 12 hours, then continue with FUSION Mineral Paint.
Did you know Ultra Grip is pure resin? It will adhere much better than a paint which contains many other ingredients, such as pigments and minerals which complete the formula.
Tip: Ultra Grip is not needed for every project, only those which are exceptionally difficult for adhesion.
